LASIK - Are You A Candidate?

LASIK is not for everyone and your Ophthalmologist will advise you about certain conditions that may prevent you from being a good candidate for this procedure. The ideal candidate for LASIK is over 21 years old, free of any eye disease and not pregnant or nursing. You should not have had any changes in your eye prescriptions in the last year. You also must be willing to accept the complications, risks, or any side effects associated with LASIK. You will be able to discuss these issues with your surgeon while carefully weighing the risks and rewards during your decission making process. LASIK is not for someone who is happy and comfortable wearing glasses or contact lenses.
